Introduction
Dr. Guo’s team conducts fundamental research on the optimization of various alloys for Selective laser melting (SLM) based additive manufacturing process using an Integrated Computational Materials Engineering(ICME) approach. In this talk, recent results related to the alloy thermophysical property measurements, alloy characterizations, SLM powder synthesis, process optimization, etc. will be presented. Especially, the ICME approach for powder synthesis will be discussed.
Prof. Guo is a tenured professor in Louisiana State University. He received his D.Phil in 1998 from Oxford University, England. He has successfully completed over 30 Federal (DOD, DOE, NSF, NASA), State, and industrial funded research projects. Prof. Guo is a key member of the ongoing NSF EPSCoR Consortium for Innovation in Manufacturing and Materials (CIMM) program, and he is in charge of setting up a Conceptlaser SLM system, and a metal powder synthesis facility for CIMM team.
