Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering

    Biomaterials and tissue engineering is a new crossed discipline of chemistry, materials science, biology and medicine. The main research is focused on the development of new materials for the treatment, repairing, human tissues and organs replacement, or capabilities enhancement, as well as the repair and reconstruction of defects in tissues and organs. This discipline owns biomaterials and drug delivery laboratory, tissue engineering laboratory, toxicology laboratory, Institute of Functional Materials, Institute of Plastic Surgery, Institute of Pharmaceutical Engineering, and there are 5 doctoral tutor supervisors, 10 professors, 2 chief physicians. In the fields of porous bone tissue engineering scaffolds, high strength absorbable fracture fixation devices, medical memory alloys, nano-fiber soft tissue repairing materials and biomimetic scaffolds for tissue engineering, nano-fiber anti-adhesion materials, nano drug delivery system, absorbable polyelectrolyte tissue repairing materials, skin cells cultured and expanded, skin tissue cultured in vitro, bone tissue culture, clinical application of biological materials, important findings have been obtained .
