Materials Science

    The discipline has 11 doctoral supervisors, 19 professors and associate professors, teachers with doctorates accounted for 60 %. The research is mainly focused on the design of new materials, research and development. Great achievements which have academic significance and application values have been obtained in the field of advanced metallic materials, high-performance cement-based metal matrix composites, lightweight structural materials , rare earth functional materials etc.. Over the past decade, we have got three National Invention Awards, dozens of the provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards and have completed more than 60 major projects with national and provincial levels. Every year more than 80 papers are published on domestic and international journals, and good cooperative relations are established with many leading overseas academic institutions and large enterprises.
